About UnfollowChecker
What it is
UnfollowChecker is an independent web tool, built and run in the United Kingdom, that reads the followers and following lists inside your official Instagram, Threads, or TikTok data export and shows you the difference: who doesn't follow you back, who unfollowed you between two dates, your mutuals, and your fans. It launched in 2026 and is not affiliated with Meta or TikTok.
Why it only works from your export
Every other way of checking followers means handing a third party your password or letting a browser extension act as you. Both break Instagram's terms, and both are the most common cause of the “Action Blocked” message and of account bans. The data export is the one route Meta and TikTok explicitly provide for getting your own lists out, and it contains everything needed for the comparison. So that is the only input this tool accepts. There is no login form on this site and never will be.
What happens to your data
The ZIP you drop in is parsed by JavaScript in your browser. It is not uploaded. The site's server never sees your followers or following lists. If you choose to unlock the full list of non-followers, that single results list is sent once so a copy can be emailed to you, then deleted. The full policy is in the terms and privacy page.
How it makes money
Seeing your count is free. Comparing two exports to find unfollowers is free. Downloading your raw followers and following lists as CSV is free. Unlocking the full list of non-follower usernames costs $2.99 once, with an optional $3 add-on for the fans and mutuals lists. There are no subscriptions, no ads, and no sale of data. That one payment is what funds the site.
How the comparisons on this site are made
Pages that compare UnfollowChecker with other apps follow a fixed method: install the app, record every permission and login it asks for, check its listing and reviews for ban reports, and note the price. The process and the last-checked dates are documented on how we test. Where another tool is the better fit, the page says so.
