Here's the safest way to do it in 2026 — without handing your password to a third-party app.

The safe method: use your Instagram data export

Instagram lets you download a copy of your own data, including your full followers and following lists. Comparing those two lists tells you exactly who you follow that doesn't follow you back. Because you're using Instagram's official export, you never log in anywhere else and never break Instagram's rules.
