Download your Instagram followers list as CSV
Short answer
Instagram has no download button for your followers list, but the data export contains it in full, with the date each person followed you. Upload the export here and the Your followers list — CSV button gives you a spreadsheet of every follower — username, profile link, follow date — free and without a login. The scrapers that promise the same thing are the ones that get accounts banned.
Downloading an Instagram followers list means obtaining a spreadsheet of every account following you, which is only possible safely by converting the followers files from your official data export.
How it works
- 1
Request the export from Accounts Centre
In the Instagram app go to your profile → menu (☰) → Settings and privacy → Accounts Centre → Your information and permissions → Export your information → Create export. Select only Followers and following, date range All time, format JSON, and Download to device.
- 2
Download the ZIP within 4 days
A followers-only export usually takes 10–20 minutes to prepare. Instagram emails you a download link that expires after 4 days; save the ZIP to your phone or computer.
- 3
Upload the ZIP or the JSON files
Drop the whole ZIP on this page, or drag in
followers_1.jsonandfollowing.jsonon their own if you have already unzipped it. Everything is read in your browser. The results step includes free CSV buttons for your followers and following lists.
No login. No password. Your export never leaves your browser.
Why there's no download button in Instagram
Your followers list in the app is a scrolling screen with a search box — no export, no dates, no select-all. Instagram keeps it that way partly to make scraping harder and partly because it has no interest in helping you take your audience elsewhere. The list does exist in downloadable form, in the data export Instagram is required to give you on request; it just arrives as JSON rather than a spreadsheet. The scrapers and browser extensions offering a one-click download get the list through your own session or your password, which is the route that ends in an action block — the safety guide explains the difference.
The free followers CSV
Request the export with Followers and following and JSON — the steps are in the how-to above — then drop the ZIP on this page. The results step shows your follower count and a Your followers list (N) — CSV button. The download is followers.csv with Username, Profile URL and Date They Followed You columns, every follower included, built in your browser. No sign-up, no payment, no cap. The underlying file is followers_1.json plus its continuation parts; the followers_1.json page describes the raw format if you'd rather work from that.
"Date They Followed You" explained
The third column is the one Instagram never shows: the day each account started following you, converted from the export's timestamp to yyyy-mm-dd. Sort by it ascending and the top rows are your longest-standing followers; sort descending and you're looking at the newest. Group by month in a pivot table and you have a growth chart by actual follow date rather than Insights' rolling window. Because the timestamp is in UTC, a follow late at night can land on the next calendar day.
Things to do with the spreadsheet
Once the list is a sheet, a few things become easy:
- Find your oldest followers and say hello — the accounts from your first year are the ones most likely to engage.
- Filter the Date They Followed You column to a week when a post took off and see exactly who it brought in.
- Keep the CSV, export again next month, and compare the two lists to see who left — or just upload both ZIPs and let the tool do the diff.
- Run a MATCH against the free following list CSV to find mutuals yourself in a spreadsheet.
Followers list vs fans list
The followers CSV is everyone who follows you. A subset of it — followers you don't follow back — is what the site calls your fans, and it's often where recent arrivals you haven't noticed are sitting. The fans page explains that list; the new followers page uses two exports to show just the arrivals since a given date. Both start from the same followers_1.json this CSV is built from. The same download exists for Threads and TikTok exports, with their matching file formats.
What this download can't include
It can't include email addresses, phone numbers, display names, bios, follower counts or profile pictures — none of that is in the export, and no legitimate tool can add it. It can't download another account's followers. It can't mark which followers are active, bots or ghosts; the file has no engagement data. And it reflects the moment the export was generated: a follower who arrived this morning is in your next export, not this one.
Frequently asked questions
How do I download my Instagram followers list?
Request a data export from Accounts Centre (Followers and following, JSON, All time), download the ZIP when Instagram emails you, and upload it here. The free Your followers list — CSV button saves a spreadsheet of every follower with the date they followed you.
Does the followers CSV include email addresses?
No. Instagram's export contains usernames, profile URLs and follow dates for your followers, nothing more. Any service promising emails for your followers is selling scraped or guessed data, not anything from Instagram.
How many followers can the CSV hold?
There's no limit. Large accounts have their list split across followers_1.json, followers_2.json and so on; all parts are merged before the CSV is built, so every follower is included however many there are.
Why are there fewer rows than my follower count?
Deleted accounts appear in the export as placeholders without a username and are skipped, and an export with a date range shorter than All time omits older follows. Re-export with All time if the gap is large.
Can I download my followers list on iPhone?
Yes. Request the export in the Instagram app, open the download link from the email in Safari, save the ZIP to Files, then upload it on this page. The CSV saves to Files too and opens in Numbers or Google Sheets.
Is downloading my followers list against Instagram's rules?
No. The data export is an official Instagram feature, and converting your own file on your own device breaks no rule. Scraping the list through an app or extension that logs in as you is what the terms forbid.
Ready to check your own account?
Free to see your count. Full list of usernames unlocks for $2.99.
