Who doesn't follow you back on TikTok
Short answer
TikTok doesn't show who you follow that doesn't follow you back, but its Download your data export (Settings and privacy → Account → Download your data, choose JSON) includes your full follower and following lists. Upload the ZIP or the user_data_tiktok.json file here and you'll see the difference — no login, no password, nothing uploaded.
TikTok's data export is a JSON file, user_data_tiktok.json, that lists every account that follows you and every account you follow with the date of each follow, capped at roughly 10,000 entries per list.
How it works
- 1
Request your TikTok data
Open TikTok → Profile → menu (☰) → Settings and privacy → Account → Download your data. Under file format choose JSON (not TXT). Request all data, or at least the Profile and Activity sections.
- 2
Wait for the file and download it
TikTok prepares the file in the background — often within a few hours, sometimes up to three days. Come back to Download your data → Download data tab and download the ZIP. It stays available for four days.
- 3
Upload it here
Drop the ZIP (or just
user_data_tiktok.json) on this page. The lists are read in your browser and compared instantly.
No login. No password. Your export never leaves your browser.
Where the lists are in TikTok's export
TikTok puts everything in one file. Inside user_data_tiktok.json there is an Activity section containing a Follower List (an array called FansList) and a Following List (an array called Following). Each entry is a username and the date and time the follow happened. TikTok has moved and renamed those sections more than once — newer exports put them under Your Activity or Profile And Settings as Follower and Following, sometimes with lowercase field names — so UnfollowChecker searches the whole file for the two arrays rather than one fixed path, and compares them.
If you chose TXT instead of JSON, the lists are there too but as plain text, and the checker can't read them reliably. Re-request in JSON; the second request is as quick as the first.
The 10,000 cap
TikTok limits each list in the export to roughly 10,000 entries, most recent first. For nearly every account that's the whole list. For a large account it means the export holds your 10,000 most recent followers and your 10,000 most recent follows, and the comparison is accurate within those. There is no way around the cap from TikTok's side; the checker tells you when a list hits it so you know the result is partial.
Why the export beats TikTok unfollow apps
The TikTok apps that promise unfollower tracking work by logging in as you and reading your lists through TikTok's internal API. TikTok's terms prohibit that, and the practical result is the same as on Instagram: a login from an unrecognised device can lock your account or trigger a verification loop, and some apps keep your session token long after you've deleted them. Download your data is TikTok's sanctioned route to your own lists, which is why it's the only input this tool takes.
Manually, you can open your Following list and look for the Friends label TikTok shows on mutual follows — anyone without it doesn't follow you back. That works for a short list; it doesn't scale and there's no way to export it.
Three results from one file
Beyond the non-followers list, the same two arrays give you your fans (followers you don't follow back) and your mutuals — TikTok calls these Friends — plus free CSV downloads of both raw lists with follow dates. For who unfollowed you over time, request a second export later and compare the two in the unfollowers tool; it accepts TikTok files.
What this tool can't do
It can't look at another person's TikTok account. It can't see past the 10,000-entry cap in the export. It can't unfollow for you. And it reflects the moment TikTok generated the file, not right now — the file can be a day or two old by the time it arrives, so a very recent follow may be missing.
Frequently asked questions
How do I see who doesn't follow me back on TikTok?
Request your data from TikTok (Settings and privacy → Account → Download your data, JSON format), download the ZIP when it's ready, and upload it here. The checker compares your Follower List and Following List and shows every account you follow that doesn't follow you back.
Does the TikTok checker need my password?
No. You download the data from TikTok yourself and the comparison runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and nothing logs in to TikTok.
How long does TikTok take to prepare the data?
Usually a few hours, sometimes up to three days. TikTok notifies you in the app, and the file stays available in the Download data tab for four days.
Why does my TikTok export only show 10,000 followers?
TikTok caps each list in the export at around 10,000 most recent entries. For accounts larger than that the comparison is accurate for those entries only; there is no workaround on TikTok's side.
JSON or TXT?
JSON. The TXT format contains the same lists as unstructured text that can't be parsed reliably. If you already requested TXT, request again and pick JSON.
