What Are Ghost Followers on Instagram — and How Do You Find Them?

Ghost followersare accounts that follow you but never interact — no likes, no comments, no story views. Some are bots, some are abandoned accounts, and some are real people who simply never see or engage with your posts. They inflate your follower count while dragging down your engagement rate, which is the metric Instagram's algorithm (and any brand looking at your profile) actually cares about.
Where ghost followers come from
- Bot and spam accounts that mass-follow people to look legitimate or to promote something before Instagram catches them.
